Maybe cuz of all the inter-racial sex that happened on the night he won the election?

[Still regret being on this side of the pond that night.]
Spare us the mental cycle of your thoughts. Looks like you're stuck in racial politics (not a happy camper, huh?)

Fixed it for you.

I think I'll like to see him actually deliver something more than spin.
So far, all I've seen is professional politician. Smacks of 1997, Blair
and Co. promising something different to Tory sleaze.
What did we get? Labour sleaze.
.

Let's seeee..... the reasons he won:

-"for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples"

-efforts to promote nuclear nonproliferation (particularly in Iran)

-a "new climate" in international relations fostered by Obama, especially in reaching out to the Muslim world.[

-“He has created a new international climate,”

One of the Swedes says,

"His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world's population."

Asked why the prize had been awarded to Mr Obama less than a year after he took office, Nobel Committee head Thorbjoern Jagland said: "It was because we would like to support what he is trying to achieve".

"It is a clear signal that we want to advocate the same as he has done," he said.

I'm good with that. Obama Barocks!

Nobel Peace prize for Obama 'too fast': Walesa

Well spoken Mr. Walesa! You are atleast different from the scores of world leaders, who I am sure will heap glowing encomiums on Obama.

Poland has not been happy with Obama lately. They are feeling ignored, and their missile shield project was cancelled.

I'd be interested in knowing just what those "values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world's population" actually are...

In my humble opinion he deserves it for scrapping the anti-ballistic missile system to be stationed in Poland and the Czech Republic.

Why provoke Russia when you have Iran, North Korea, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq to deal with (not including israel and palestine)
Well... LOL

Didnt find it in English, but nevertheless

http://de.rian.ru/safety/20091007/123387947.html

The quintessence is that Patriot Rockets are going to be stationed in Poland and Czech, but the best part is what Pantsuit said:

Poland and Czech are the premier candidates for the Rocket Shield which will be completed in 4 steps until 2020.

Until then, US Warships are going en patrol on Europe's coasts.

Congratulations!

Excuse me now, im going to puke.

That was from Nobel Committee head Thorbjoern Jagland. I suppose it is in contrast to unilateralism.

Who voted when they were handing out this one?

The circle of friends at the Bilderberg Group meetings?

You forgot to add that Walesa also said, "For the time being Obama's just making proposals. But sometimes the Nobel committee awards the prize to encourage responsible action, Let's give Obama a chance,..."

Re: U.S. President Barack Obama named 2009 winner of Nobel Peace Prize

Hmmmm.... so what this fellow presumably means is "the shared values of a small segment of the European liberal establishment", as opposed to the shared values of most of the rest of the world, which are quite a lot more conservative than the values Mr Obama is likely to hold...

The prize was devalued long ago.

Re: U.S. President Barack Obama named 2009 winner of Nobel Peace Prize

Most of the egregious acts of U.S. Presidents happen on their 2nd terms, when they do longer have to worry about reelection. As of now, the guy hasn't really committed a big one yet. That's an accomplishment in itself, believe it or not.

As voted for by the readers of People magazine

Shame they already handed out the literature prize, Dan Brown was robbed!
Brown could feel the lack of an award slipping slowly through his fingers
and swore loudly to himself as he realised that yet again the parsnips
had fallen butter-side down.
