Regarding Obama's prize: just when you thought the Nobel could not sink any lower, they come out and prove you wrong. What a stinking pile of crap. The guy might still do a lot and prove himself worthy of lots of prizes, but today?

The U.S. is pushing for funding to build a "gargantuan bunker-busting bomb called the Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP)" in what could be part of the process of accelerating provisions for a possible attack on Iran. http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Ne...sh.aspx/172153
This bomb will be full of Love, Bunnies, Sweets and Peace, of course!

Any respect for the Nobel Prize process has vanished entirely with this win.
Obama is an utter failure as a president - he has taken he U.S. down the socialist path. He has saddled that countr with a huge deficit.
And he's delivered on exactly none of his campaign promises. Guantanamo is still open, Iraq's still a mess, Afghanistan is getting there.
And they are saying it's a prize more for potential in his case than results.
Oh really? If that's the case, then maybe I should win the damn thing, since I have so much potential to change the world!

Lots of controversy about this pick. I would bet that Obama will flip this controversy to his favor. He's done it many times before, and I think he'll do it once again. The dude thrives under political adversity. He's like the Madonna of politics.
He'll have some speech that says something like;
"I humbly accept this award on behalf of the American people, who has given me the privilege to serve them and their vision of a greater future. From those who have struggled to fulfill their dream of providing a bright future for generations to come; from Rosa Parks to Joe the Plumber - It is their great vision, not mine, that is being honored here today. I humbly accept this award and the prize money." | This user would like to thank for this useful post:

Blame the Norwegian committee who decided that. However, it is their prize to give anyway.
As for the results, Arafat was also given the prize for "Peace" | This user would like to thank for this useful post:

Those Obama fanboys in the Norwegian parliament definitely prematurely ejaculated.
Compare to Gandhi never receiving the prize, even though he introduced the notion of non-violent protest to our modern times, which not only effected his movement at the time, but had immense influence on public protest since then.
