hanging? You are being way tooo nice. Am in full favour of any number of punishments which are banned today due to Human Rights... whose rights anyway I wonder. Those two need a public flogging. Won't help them to be imprisoned where they just learn to develop their already apalling behaviour to be worse when they are released and they will be, unfortunately... I have lots of other suggestions as well. They should work while being punished, why waste the tax payers money when they are generally a bunch of wasters anyway. Chain gangs... yeah, groan me whoever....

Hanging? Perhaps a bit too harsh for their particular crime, no? (Don't want to be going down the Daily Mail school of thought)
However, it is an a extremely cowardly and sick attack and I do hope they are caught and made an example of.

They need to be punished, and having the state commit a pre-meditated killing of people as retribution isn't going to do that. Not only that, but the idiots who did this crime didn't kill anyone themselves, so why should the state kill them in retribution?
They should simply be tried and jailed.

If they're in their early-mid teens, then I think there is every chance of rehabilition, no reason to consign them to the dustbin of society. However I do agree that its a despicable crime and I hope they are caught.

There are a lot of emotionally dead or damaged teenagers about.
Not sure hanging them will give us all a safer, brighter future though.
Meditteranean appearance? Now that really is narrowing it down to about twenty odd countries and three continents...

I wonder what the truth behind this story really is... Probably the two girls are drug pusher and the mother, who is probably 14 and on benefit probably owed them money for some crack she had bought.
Doesn't excuse the behaviour but this is a story that only a fraction of what really happened was told. This 'sickening' and brutal attack left no physical marks?
Like I say it doesn't excuse what happened, if just makes me wonder what the real story was...

The mother is 23.
Anyway, you can still be against capital punishment and still want to kill someone who harms your loved ones. It's not hypocritical, it's just a recognition that we're emotional beings, and not always rational, and knowing what's right and wrong doesn't necessarily prevent you doing something that normally would be against your conscience. As one pacifist said "I'd kill them, but I'd be wrong to do so".
What the UK needs is fewer CCTV cameras, and more police on the streets "keeping the peace" - i.e. crime prevention | The following 2 users would like to thank NotAllThere for this useful post: | |
