The world is out of control

Investors rarely like wars or rumors of war. But for global markets, the renewed military tension on the Korean peninsula comes at a particularly sensitive time. The threat to this fairly big economy — South Korea’s GDP is four times larger than Greece’s — adds to the impression of a world out of control.

Sadly there is nothing like a really good war to get things like economy and innovation moving again, it seems to be the curse of our spices that we are only at our best when we are killing each other. There are quite a few think-tanks that would just love South east Asia to go boom and need rebuilding when the dust has settled.
The local economies have a party when cities in far away counties get wiped off the map

I am assured by the EF Mods that everything is under their perfect control and that we need not worry. A few bannings, country borders moved to the correct place and a few warnings are all that is required I am lead to believe.

P.S. If you can read this thread I haven't been banned, and the thread hasn't been deleted.

Then stop watching CNN all day.
Their war coverage are like Hollywood War Movie Trailers.
Enough to make anyone paranoid! Me included.

My Asian stocks lately sunk like a Korean corvette, but the good news is that the world is far from being out of control: North Korea is far from being a powerful country capable of waging a long running war. It is true that they have the fire power and nuclear arsenal to really badly up, but there is no way they can win anything. The dictator they have is surely a maniac, but in the past has never acted stupidly: He continuous to provoke as this is all he can do:

1. Nobody really cares about North Korea, so if they do not do something from time to time, the aid he gets might get cut or lowered. He needs to keep up the picture of a nuclear threat that might attack when money stops to come in. I personally believe that this was the only point all those past nuclear tests or rocket test were about. You need to make the headline.

2. He is pretty old and unhealthy by now, so is probably in the process of passing on the power to his son. As a crazy dictator you must be careful in this moment, otherwise one of your decade long top level generals might try a coup. So some tensions help keeping everyone on his toes.

3. The big neighbour who actually build the torpedo which was fired and also ships the rice the people eat in North Korea has absolutely zero interest in an open conflict. North Korea is slowly becoming an embarrassment for Beijing, so they will "have a chat" for sure about the whole torpedo thing. Fact is: Without Chinese fuel, the North Korean army will not get very far. http://www.cfr.org/publication/11097/

There's nothing new under the sun.
The pawns change color, but they remain pawns.

In the Middle Ages, everybody was sure that the world was such a terrible place that it would end in the year 1000.
Through out history humanity has enjoyed frightening itself silly, getting high on negative sensations.
The world's still there the next day.

Have a cuppa tea and a delicious scone and don't worry, everything will fall apart and rebuild itself anyway regardless of anything you or I could possibly wish for

Out of control? You are giving humans too much credit. World was never in control. Control of who anyway? It has always been a messed up place and it ain't changing EVER!

Build a tiny virtual island of people who truly care about you and enjoy life while you can. Cause the show will end one day.

Meanwhile have a nice cup of chill the hell up with a dash of HTFU in it and enjoy the video while the show goes on
