Re: Low-cost Rocket launch

Electronic problems, they are sending a guy over to investigate. I guess they will cancel the launch for today.....

I have to say as well, being the first guy to get back on that launchpad after the rocket didn't fire, takes balls of steel.

Bad Battery. They may be able to try again today, after it is replaced

Re: Low-cost Rocket launch

hahahhaha, is anyone else thinking AA Duracell battery failed.
I love it that a bunch of Danish amateurs are reigniting my love of Science and space, something that the world has been missing recently.
Well played crazy Danish space people, Epic.

Re: Low-cost Rocket launch

Its off. The igniters needs to be replaced :-(

Guess the battery did not have enough power to keep the CHF 15 Hairdryer blowing enough air to keep the Oxygene valves ice free

Re: Low-cost Rocket launch

Postponed until June 2011 :-(

Latest news is, that because the batteries could not deliver enough power for the Hairdryer, the Valve froze.

Unfortunately they can not get the rocket ready to fly before 17/9, so they have to postpone until next year. The Launch is from a military zone, and they have only permission to use it until 17/9.

Doc.

Re: Low-cost Rocket launch

Launching from a floating pad seems to be a pretty stupid idea to me.

It does not take a lot of swell before launch pad and rocket will change position i.e. flying path and only god know where the "thing" ends up then.

I read yesterday that the two guys in charge were ready to "drink a lot of beers now" after they have wasted most of their adult life doing this space adventure without succes.

Excellent solution......when everything fails, drink beer.
