Well done Singapore, NZ and Denmark for Transparency

The top three countries, tying with 9.3 points, were Denmark, New Zealand and Singapore.

Switzerland has lost a few points in the 2010 international rating of the world’s least-corrupt countries, but is still ranked eighth, tying with Australia.

It's Switzerland's climate of secrecy that is probably contributing to its corruption problem. "Whistle-blowers are not very well protected legally under Swiss law and can be dismissed, while the compensation they receive is small," says Schwoebel, who added that a recent draft reform to improve the situation for whistle-blowers was still well short of what was needed. "It’s a small country: People know each other and help each other. It's very difficult to unearth corruption."
Yes, Temasik made it to the top and Canada came out better than CH.

Kudos to the Kiwis!

NZ not corrupt? hmmm....from my experience it wasn't squeaky clean, but it wasn't bad either. I guess not a lot of wheel greasers make their way out there

Not true, Albania and Kosovo* are 1 and 2 respectively. That can't be a surprise
