| | Texan Moving to Switzerland
Hi everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm relocating to Switzerland from Texas in a few weeks. I've heard great things about this forum from some of my other English expats out there. I'm still trying to figure out which city is ideal for me as I believe I'll be able to live anywhere close to a major airport. Anyhow, thanks for this forum and look forward to meeting some of you.

Dear sir
Welcome in Switzerland. If you are ever in Zurich, look for Sid's Pub in Oerlikon. There is a small English speaking colony there, meets almost dayly.
Texans are the friendliest people on earth!

Hello, I am a Texan moving to Zurich in the Spring 2011! I hope we can meet when I arrive. Please figure out the housing situation for me and help me when I get there!
I live in Austin, and love Zurich as much as Austin and more.
See you soon!

hi, i used to live in austin as well. great place. am interested in possibly living / working in switzerland as well. would any of you that are on your way to switzerland be inclined to share how / why you're moving to switzerland. more specifically if it's work related what you will be doing and for whom?
if it's too private that's cool. i'm just trying to brainstorm some ideas and see how others are making this possible.
thanks and best of luck if you decide not to post

Welcome to the EF! Hope you sort out where you want to live (& work?) before you hit the ground, may make things a lot easier!
Just don't be like some guy I heard about, who told the immigration people he had no idea where he wanted to stay or what sort of work he wanted to do, but would "work it out" over the next couple of months ... strangely, he didn't stay in the country for long!

The job aspect needs to be sorted before getting here, necessary work permits, etc..
