Yet an other student going to stay in CH for a while!

Hi all!

I'm Andrea, student in electronics engineering in Italy, and I'll spend 6 month in Zurich for an internship at Google starting in February 2011.

I've just joined the forum as it seems a very good place to ask questions about Switzerland and meet new people

At the moment I'm looking where to stay during my internship in Zurich, a room somewhat near Brandschenkestrasse would be great but I hadn't be lucky yet, I hope to get some good advices here about that too in this forum.

Thanks for reading this and nice to meet you

Thank you! I'm still working on my English but I hope it will be sufficient for my stay in Switzerland, I don't think I can learn enough German to be fluent before getting there.

Re: Yet an other student going to stay in CH for a while!

Ciao Andrea,

Benvenuto! (welcome).

Hope you'll like your time in Zurich. I am also a "newbie", from Italy, and I speak no German at all (unfortunately, and yet). I moved to Zurich last July from San Francisco, CA for what was supposed to be a 1-year assignment, but ended up liking it a lot over here and decided to make the move permanent.

I found this forum incredibly helpful so far, and I suspect it will be even more so now that I am transitioning from "temporary guest" to "now that I am staying long term I have no more excuses and I really have to figure this country out" If you search the forum, you'll find answers to a lot of questions you might have - at least I did.

Good luck with everything, hope to see you at future social events!

Re: Yet an other student going to stay in CH for a while!

As said before, I'm new here and I've been unlucky in finding an affordable room in Zurich.

I was going to post a Wanted thread in the section suggested by Meisie but EF doesn't give me its bless . I guess I need to get more involved with EF before asking that much.

This was just to update, I'll try to get to 10 posts without producing garbage
