Re: hello everyone

Welcome to the forum!

Do you speak any other languages? French is fairly noxious to the ear, so one can be excused for not speaking it. But you ought to speak something, at least.

You only really need the first of these.

Speak it loudly and clearly at whomever you wish to address. Repeat louder and more clearly if he is too obtuse to understand.

Works for me every time.

One must be firm with the natives. If a dog can understand plain English, then surely a foreigner can (although dogs do have the advantage of intelligence in this case).

Don't let them pretend that they don't understand. Be firm and insistent, and if that doesn't work, emphasise your point with a bullwhip.

We didn't build an empire by putting up with linguistic impertinence from Johnny Foreigner, now, did we?

Re: hello everyone

Re: hello everyone

I'm going to be looking for work soon. Do you recommend a career as a breaker of microwaves?

Seriously, welcome to the forum, and hope you find what you need.
