All About Me; A girl from Nebraska

Hi everyone!

I am an American living in Bolligen, which is near Bern. I am 29 years old and I have been in Switzerland for about a year and a half and surprisingly learning to like it here quite quickly.

I met and married a Swiss man which is what brought me here. My dog and I moved to Bolligen in August of 2009. Luckily, I was fortunate enough to have found a job before I moved. I am a teacher at an English/German Preschool in Bern.

I am originally from Nebraska and already feel the two countries and cultures pulling at me. When I am home in Nebraska I think about my new home and when I am in Switzerland I think about my family and life in Nebraska. This is a feeling I hope gets better with time but never goes away.

I have been trying to learn German but just recently started to take it serious. The first year in Switzerland was full of too many other worries.

I think what I enjoy the most about Switzerland is all the beautiful mountain trails. My husband and I enjoy our "hiking" adventures on the weekends in the spring and summer. These trips are always better when there is a bar or somewhere to get a drink afterwards.

So, I guess that is about all I can say! Looking forward to be apart of this forum.

Hi Haley Baley, welcome to the EF. I've been in this country 29 years and guess what? I'm still doing the same as you are. I love going to Britain and doing all the things I never did when I was there and I love coming back to my home and checking out all is just the same as I left it.
