Re: From Southampton to Lausanne

Hi all, nice to meet, I came here in january, jan 2nd 2011 to be exact, working, settled and nearly got an apartment covered.

How do you find Zurich on a day to day basis, quite smooth and relaxing I must say.

If you're replying to the OP (original poster), you'll find that she has given her location as Canton Vaud (Waadt), which is in the west (centred around Lausanne). See map link:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...Waadt_2010.png
Also see title of thread.
See details, top right of each post for location (when given). There are many ex-pats in and around Zurich, but not all.

To the OP: I used to travel down to the ice rink in S'oton from Farnham (when I were t'lad, in late 70's/early 80's) - don't know if it's still there?
If I remember rightly, there were 2 good things that came out of Southampton -- ferries, ..... and the road back to Farnham!

Re: From Southampton to Lausanne

Thank you all very much the warm welcome

I used to live in Southampton SO16 3BE was a nice house very close to the Uni (like 10 mins walk). However, like most of the places in UK, we have a problem with the kids around there guess we didn't choose the best place to stay... but still a nice town to stay with the sea right beside it and the big shopping center We still have an ice rink (very small one in the city center) during winter time where people can go and skate there. And Lausanne is actually quite far away from Zurich but I have traveled there a few time and I have to say I like Lausanne more with the lovely lake right beside us and the Alps right there
