anyone around morges?

Hi all,
I'm not really that new to Switzerland - I've been living in Morges since July 2010. I thought I would drop a line out there though and see if anyone else is bored around Morges Or has any good ideas of things to do around Morges. Sometimes it is just too far to go to Lausanne for entertainment.
Cheers

I'm in Morges... There are a few of us on here, though the only social event I've seen in this area is a book club. Maybe some bike rides in the summer. What part of town are you in?

Morges is cool. We should start out book club again, though it is more about getting together and having wine or whatever...If anyone is up for it, I will post an event!

Re: anyone around morges?

I recommend an event where people turn up and chuck their car keys into a bowl. I'll provide the bowl

Though Morges Région Tourisme might beg to differ, that kind of entertainment is roughly all that Morges has to offer beyond some scenic hiking trails to the northwest.

Oh, cmon, guys, I am sure there is some fun to do, I recon we turn up at some of the local events and make it lil more fun. How about EF ice skating? Bring your wives and kids, and a lot of grog, I am all into ice skating and mulled wine or grog, yay.

And then we can put our own stuff together, I want to have our book club pick up again, or some hiking, sports..

Re: anyone around morges?

Morges is small enough that no car key bowl is needed -- No car is needed, either.

Good thing, because often there's nowhere to park.

Re: anyone around morges?

actually, can someone explain what a book club is? I expect it to be a gathering of people with spectacles who sit and read together whilst shushing anyone who makes a noise.

given the size of the place, I'm sure there's some Talaker-esque partner-swapping going on already......I wonder what they've replaced the bowl and car keys with?!!

Love those Music Chicks! Great energy and ideas!
Your avatar looks like one of my fav rock music chick bassists, Rachel Haden!! Same pose as when she toured with The Wizard Todd Rundgren, in 2008. Amazing gig.

Re: anyone around morges?

I probably run into both of ya every day ..I am gona stick a woodden toothpick in my mouth next week, if you see a girl with a toothpick sticking out of her mouth, c'est moi! Coded EF greeting.

Book club is easy. We meet, we have wine or whoever wants what, coctails, beers, and talk about books. Everyone usually have some kind of attitude to what we have read, it's not an academic thing at all, or we decide to not talk about the book, depends on the moment. And some of us do wear glasses, cough cough...

Hey, thanks! She most surely plays better. The pose, well, there aren't that many poses to strike when one is busy playing, hahaha...Although band mates would disagree, they always tried to push me into some kind of uber corny r&r poses, whatever those are..

My pleasure, MC. Not to worry if you struck the rock poses (whatever they are) - makes good viewing.

Us jazz trumpet players struck the poses too, esp. in admiration of our trumpet god, the imitable Maynard Ferguson and his arching back when he was screaching up into the music staff stratopshere.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRMOr1kUqVM Note the young barbed drummer laying down the funky law, before heading off to play with Weather Report - Peter Erskine.
