Hi from Colorado!

Hi all! I just stumbled upon this forum last week and joined because there is so much great info on here! I grew up in Switzerland but have been living in Colorado for the past 15+ years. My husband and I are currently thinking about moving to Switzerland, so I'm sure we'll be doing a lot of research on here for the next few months, and of course I'm happy to contribute too if there's questions I can answer! Plus it will be nice to have some English speaking friends once we arrive.

Hello! And Welcome! Yes, there is quite a bit of information on here - it's great! Where in Colorado are you from? My brother lives in Colorado Springs - and we have friends in Denver and Boulder as well. Why are you thinking of returning? Aside from the obvious - if you grew up here.

Re: Hi from Colorado!

Hi all, thanks so much for the warm welcome! I grew up in Lieli in the canton of Aargau, which is really close to Zurich. Here in Colorado we currently live in Castle Rock, just south of Denver. I also spent a couple years in Glenwood Springs in the mountains, and we lived in downtown Denver for a while as well. We're considering moving to spend some time with my family, as my parents recently retired. And I'd love for my husband to have the chance to live in a foreign country for a while, and learn some Swiss German

Re: Hi from Colorado!

Hi and Welcome to the Forum,

I am about to go to Colorado for a holiday and am really looking forward to it.

It's a shame I haven't been there yet to get a perspective from both sides of the fence....... but Switzerland is pretty good, so whatever you decide I'm sure you'll be fine.

Make use of the Search function on the site to find out all the info you need...... anything else, just post a question and someone should be able to help.

Re: Hi from Colorado!

Hi and welcome. We have very good friends near Winterpark, and have visited often, both Summer and Winter, and love the area. Funnily enough, I was recently put in touch with a lady who was born and bred in my Swiss village in Neuchatel county, but now lives near Grandby, as they play golf together. Small world.

Re: Hi from Colorado!

MsMaddyMax, I don't know yet how to deal with the "swiss weather issue". I'm very much enjoying sunshine every day, not looking forward to foggy and drizzly grayness that Zurich is... Hopefully by the time we arrive it will be close to spring time.

It will be great to know some other "Denverites" and friends of Colorado there, I'm going to miss this place a lot.

Thank you all for welcoming me to the forum, I'm looking forward to making new friends there.

Re: Hi from Colorado!

Welcome, I have spent quite a bit of time in Summit County in recent years. Enjoy Switzerland, weather is not so bad if you can escape to the mountains frequently.

Re: Hi from Colorado!

Hi Dakman, thanks for the encouragement. Summit County is great, I love snowboarding in Keystone and Copper Mountain. But you're right, the Swiss mountains are nice too, it's always so beautiful being up in the sunshine and looking down on the fog and clouds.
