Moving to Lugano

Hi to all,

In three weeks I will start a new job in Lugano. The move has been a very recent decision and I have loads to arrange and it is slightly overwhelming me! I have two weeks to find accomodation, rent a car for minimum one month (or untill I managed to arrange a lease or finance for my own car), arrange the freight of my stuff, etc.

Does anyone have any experience in applying for a EU family permit at the embassy by any chance? I am awaiting the final documents and will then need to apply for my hubbie's residence.

I will be travelling a lot for work and my new boss has actually recommended me to go live just across the border in Italy. He couldn't give me the exact pros and cons however (too busy), so if there is anybody out there that has looked into this before, I would love to hear from you!

After all the basics are sorted, I hopefully will have some time for social activities. My husbands wants to join a gym, any recommendations? Preferrably with pool...

Browsing the forum has definately helped me to get on track, thanks to all contributors!

Cheers,
Gattina

Re: Moving to Lugano

Welcome there, Gattina !
You surely have your hands full, tho'...

Why don't you look at a residence like the one in Cadro, just for the first 6-8 weeks...?

Re: Moving to Lugano

Hiya Paul,

Thanks for the tip, dropped them a line to see what they can offer! I did also find a place called La Residenza if I remember correct, but this one looks waaaay better!

Indeed quite a bit to handle on such short notice, I did the last minute country move about 4 times before, so am getting the hang of it (or so I tell myself)...

Ciaociao!
Gattina
