| | Just moved to Lugano, Ticino
Hi,
I've just moved to lugano, ticino for a job in research. My boyfriend has moved with me.
We are both native english speakers, I'm from Glasgow, Scotland and he is from Blackpool in England and would love to meet other english speakers in Lugano or the surrounding area as we get used to life here and start trying to learn italian!
We both love music, walking, exploring, and meeting up in the pub for a drink.
Nice to meet you all, |

I've been living here for 21 years this coming summer (after four in Zurich).
Some of us are meeting up next Wednesday: Shoot the breeze and down a beer! [Lugano-Bioggio]

Come join the evening group of the International Women’s Club of Lugano (IWCL - www.iwcl.org) for dinner and a concert.
This group has been set up for international people living in Ticino willing to get together in a friendly and casual atmosphere.
We are meeting on Wednesday, March 16th, 2011 from 19:30 at Canvetto Luganese, Via Simen 14b, 6900 Lugano – Tel. 091 910 18 90
On stage will Trio Padre Padrone be performing.
Check out their music here (unfortunately the link comes just in German): http://www.desto-besser.ch/PP.php?m1=1&m2=0&m3=0
The concert starts at 20:30 and entrance is: CHF 15.00
CHF 10.00 if you dine at the Canvetto Luganese
Parking: street parking or Piazza Molino Nuovo
We have designed a flexible format, so you can choose to come just for the concert or dine there having a small bite, a proper meal, or a light tasting menu. Canvetto Luganese is known for its homemade pasta. The restaurant is owned by the Fondazione Diamante. The pasta factory, restaurant and various activities employ disabled people to help them integrate in everyday life. Partners and friends are welcome.
Please reserve no later than Tuesday, 8 March, and don’t forget to mention if you want to eat à la carte, pick the tasting menu or just come for the concert (your place will be booked from 19:30 on):

hi there, I guess i missed this post and meeting you guys at the brewery place. I grew up around the north west of england (my brother lives in St. Annes) and my folks moved up to Scotland quite a long time ago. I'm quite close to leaving Switzerland at least for a while, but I'd up for grabbing a beer after work, i could probably give you a few tips about the region. all the best for you stay here, you will be surprised by the heat in the summer :-)

You don't need to worry about the heat. Usually summers are quite fresh round here and they don't last that long.
I would like to have more heat and tropical weather |

Hi, TweetiePie. There's a very good organisation that's only recently become 'offical' in Lugano with around 400 members, mostly of your age group. Internations.org
It's free and there are regular friendly meetings - definitely recommended !
