A slightly belated, slightly premature introduction...

Yes I've been lurking here for a little while but I didn't do the official "introduction" thing, naughty me. And I've only just managed to find a decent photo to stick onto each of my posts, as you can see. So in that respect I'm late introducing myself.

But it's also still premature because we've got another month or so before we arrive in Sankt Gallen. Of course we're looking forward to it immensely. Hopefully we'll be able to glean lots of useful tips from you guys, as we have done already, and we're looking forward to meeting some of you northeasterners after we arrive.

By the way, "we" in all of that is me, my wife and our 1-year-old.

I'm not from Germany, I'm English. But I'm currently living in Germany, not too far from Stuttgart. And yes the locals are very friendly here, I find it quite noticeable how friendly and helpful the people in the shops are.

Before Germany I lived in Züri for a while, so I'm not completely new to Switzerland, but I'm sure I'll be able to come up with plenty of daft questions for you all anyway

Welcome Neddie. Where are you from in Germany? I lived in Odenwald and Munich for 12 years. I really like the German people, I never once had a bad experience. I learnt my German there, in bed with a blondine, great fun!
