| | Hello from Geneva
Hi,
I'm new in Geneva and need to find a football club and a flat! Can anyone help? Any expat football team in Geneva similar to FC Hard in Zuerich? Where do people meet up to watch football on TV? Looking forward to meeting some of you footy fans on the forum.
bye
Monty

I am not too sure about football, but many people meet at Charly O 'Neill's
and Mullligan's pubs. There are many expats there. www.ireland.ch |

Welcome in Geneva,
It might be a lot easier to find a football club than a decent flat...

Good luck!

y | | | | | Just saying hi and welcome to Geneva and on this forum.
Never heard of an expat football team, but you could create one if you really need.
Flat hunting's difficult in Geneva, it has always been and will be always.
Now, for watching football on TV, there's several Pubs with Big Screens and good beers |

Go down to Pickwicks on the rue de lausanne. Lots of footie followers gather there, I am sure someone will know of a football club you could join. They also have the big screens etc.

Pickwicks is the best of the pubs I've seen so far. Mulligans did NOT impress me!

Bloody good band!!! Even get grouchy old Patsy up for a bop!! I shall be at Seven Arts next Wednesday with a friend who is flying in from Dublin if any Genevaites want to join us... Just listen for the girl who shouts out Donny Osmond... or pm me for my real name and then ask the barman to point me out.
It would be nice to meet a few people from around here. So we can show the Zurich lot that Geneva is not dead!!

Not technically dead, but a curious bunch.
Why not organise an event on the calendar? Give a bit of info on how to get there, where you're meeting, what to expect etc. and you can see who RSVPs. This generates a bit of buzz and focus to an event. There's no obligation to play hostess or be in any way responsible for bringing people together, but you may be surprised how quickly momentum gathers once it's on the calendar. And it's free!
To the OP: good luck there! |
