Flyinghome: Hi! My in-laws live there, so I have been many times to Beijing (including the not so touristic parts).

Im from china | Quote: | | | | | Sorry LiB, normally you're kind of cute, but don't you think it's kind of refreshing and modest that someone doesn't expect that everyone's familiar with his or her city? For example, some would say my fellow Canadians are quite arrogant, traipsing around the world expecting everyone to recognise the flag they feel compelled to stick on everything...
Anyway, welcome to the OP, and while I've never been to Beijing, I've heard a few things about it. | | | | | | Quote: | | | | | Hello, welcome. I came from China too | | | | | Do you know Beijing? |

"Grüezi wohl Frau Stirnimaa" - is that, like, you know, "Here's to you Mrs Robinson" in Swiss German? |

Great that you even have relatives there! Many foreign people can say more or less some chinese words, but I can understand that it is not easy to remember the spelling. Chinese is quite a different language from English. Just as chinese people also make lots of mistakes when speaking English. But we can understand each other, that's enough. |
