Thinking about moving to CH

Hello everyone. I am new to this site but have been reading it over the past few months. I am a Swiss citizen that has been living in the United States (Fort Lauderdale) for almost 14 years now. My parents moved here when I was 15.
I never thought about moving back to Switzerland, but my wife and I are having a tough time finding work in the US after the recent layoffs. She used to work as a Software Consultant and I am in the IT field. She fell in love with Switzerland the first time I took her there so we decided to start looking for work in Switzerland and maybe move there for 2-3 years while we are still young without kids. I am fluent in English and German, so I am not too worried about finding work, but my wife only speaks English so I am currently looking around for "English-only" jobs for her.
I am sure I will be here a lot in the coming days, weeks, and probably months asking questions.

Within the IT/software field, the odds of finding an English only job in, for example Zürich, are probably not bad. However, every search is different. Good luck!

Re: Thinking about moving to CH

Hi
My husband works for AGCO Corp. in Neuhausen and all they do is communicate in English. Even though they do require some German, I know they've hired English speaker only all the time. Maybe there are some open positions?
Good luck
P.S. I used to live in Jacksonville for 7 years :-)

Welcome to the forum, and good luck in finding a suited job. I know quite a few people that live and work here without speaking German. Your qualifications is what counts.

However, if you have small children and your wife wants to work full time?!? With this school schedule? Hmm this might be a challenge.

All the best,

Romi

We don't have any kids, that's the main reason we are willing to make the move. We figured we'll do it for 2-3 years, and then possibly move back to the States once we do decide to start a family.

Thanks, I will look into AGCO Corp. for my wife. What brought you from the largest city in the US to Switzerland?
