| Welcome to Basel!
I think we all lurk around before we come around to post. | |

No I didn't. Years ago, I googled "forest roaches" because we had them in our house in the northeastern Midwest of the US of A, and the first hit was a thread on the EF, just around the corner from my European base camp. Minutes later I was a registered member and began posting.
Asarlá, welcome to the forum and to the land of William Tell, grumpy people in street cars who stare at you and bump into you, loud church bells, check-out counters without baggers, stale bread everywhere, cheeses that don't taste like real American Swiss cheese, and chefs who do not know what a Swiss steak is.
You already noticed the permanent brown sugar shortage, so you are prepared for just about everything, thanks to the EF.
By the way, beef jerky is difficult to find too, but there are a few sources. Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries cost more than twice as much as in the USA, don't ask me why. And Levy Strauss and the like cost even much more than just double. It's cheaper to fly home and get some there.
On the other hand, organic bell peppers are cheaper here, but beware, they are called peperoni, and, believe it or not, that's absolutely correct, both the spelling and the usage.
Sorry if I forgot something really important.
Have a great time here.
