I love Lugano! You should join couchsurfing.org and you`ll find other people in Lugano you can hook up with for dinner or a coffee.
I was entertained by Celso Hall ( who I still think is a distant cousin) and his friends way back while on a 2 day break there.

Welcome to the Forum. I've given you your own Thread. It is the only time you can start a new Thread on the same subject as an old one, so make the most of it.
There are fewer expats in Lugano than in the Zürich region, but check through posts and you'll find enough to be going on with. A lovely region and certainly warmer than here at the moment. Hope you settle in well.

Ciaoo, Welcome to Lugano!!
we got a great group of expats / international people in lugano.
In fact, there is a internations aperitivo coming up on March 16th
here's the link to it: http://www.internations.org/events/view/13086
Also, we are organizing our 4th annual bowling tournament (last year we had about 50 people attend) on March 18th!!!
Would love for you to join us in the fun!! Even if you don't bowl, it's really more about getting together and having some pizza and drinks!
=)
Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you the details (i'll post the info on the calendar as well)

Welcome Aisling, I'm still here, and its not a bad place at all, although this grey weather is annoying me, i'd give anything for a gale force wind and scattered showers and sunny spells. Anyhow, there are a few of us Irish here, and so PM if you ever want a drink,a cup of Bewleys or whatever, we will also likley catch up at one of the meetup thingys.

Hi Aisling
Great, another Irish!
I've been here almost two years...check out the 'english speaking group lugano' on meetup.com. They meet up a fair bit, I was out hiking with a few from there recently, really nice bunch.
Just looked at the events and there is one on wed and drinks on thurs.
Just like Orla (who I haven't met) said, we will probably meet at one of the meet ups, or get on touch if you fancy a cuppa T .
Enjoy Lugano,
aileen
