Hello and thank you!

Navigating the public transport, finding an apartment, getting an iphone contract and finding proper milk in the supermarket are just some of the things the English forum has helped me with so far, so I thought it would be churlish not to say thank you and introduce myself to the forum.

I’m a girl in my late twenties and have been in Zurich for a month or so now, I’m here indefinitely for work, which is in finance. I am from the south of England originally and am thoroughly enjoying my time in Switzerland so far. Every day brings a pleasant surprise – not getting freaked out walking home in the dark and seeing that the little kids are safe enough to walk to school on their own... But much as I love this new and exciting place I miss my urban family back in the UK. Zurich seems like a fine place to explore alone but I’d love to meet some folks to share a bottle of wine with or meet for lunch. So that means all I have to do now is make some friends, hopefully I came to the right place?!

Wishing you all a wonderful Sunday evening

Hello and welcome from another southerner.
You may want to consider increasing your type print, though. I'm sure you're maybe trying to confine those reading your post, to young virile types with good eyesight, and not grumpy, half-blind old gits, but it could backfire.

Re: Hello and thank you!

Welcome

Do hope you enjoy it here. Yup EF is a very nice place to make friends, but also just to chat and share ideas and info.

Perhaps you could use a slightly larger font ? it does make it a little easier for blind ol'bats like me.

cheers

Re: Hello and thank you!

Thank you all for the warm welcome, I hope to meet some of you at a social event soon... And my sincerest apologies if I had you reaching for the magnifying glass in order to be able to read my original post, hopefully this one is a little easier on the eye!

Wishing you all a wonderful Monday evening

Yes, one of the mods could be one of the latter types and I do, in fact, have a magnifying glass beside me when working at the computer.

Welcome to the Forum anyway. In Introductions you are allowed the odd slip-up.
