New and Jobless!

Hi there, we have recently moved to Geneva from London and have managed to get a house sorted which is good news.

My wife was offered a job in Geneva and so the move happened, I'm in IT and we have two children 6 and 3.

I've no idea what to expect with the Geneva job market but it seems very slow, anyway basically we (me and the kids!) could do with finding some friends and finding out some things to do.

Any help/advice would be warmly welcome!

Re: New and Jobless!

Hello newcomer and welcome here. Good luck with the job search, it takes a while, but GE offers much better job options than say a few kms away, so you are lucky in that sense.

We could put together a parent/kid group in GE, a playdate a week or so, in the afternoon...My 4yr old would be happy if it is not too far from the train station.

Re: New and Jobless!

Thanks for that, my son is 3, but a handful! His sister is 6 and once we get the house sorted she'll be going to school locally (hopefully!)

Something on a Wednesday would be good as I gather there is no school in the afternoon!

I've still not got a clue whats going on basically! We need to get a washing machine, hoover etc.., and I can't for the life of me find anything worthwhile on the net - literally pulling my hair out over all the bits and pieces!

switzerland doesn't really do web shops lol, your best bet is someone like interdiscount, they have an offer on a washing machine at the moment.
