English Student temporarily in Switzerland

Hi,

I'm Dan, a 22 year old student who's visiting parents, just outside Zurich in a little village called Oberglatt, here in Switzerland. They moved out here in Feb '10 and I've been spending my time between the UK and Switzerland since then.

Been a long time lurker on these forums, mainly checking out information about skiing and snowboarding for the winter and cycling in the summer. Didn't get a chance to do any cycling last summer, but I'll definitely make more of an effort to get out this summer.

That said, I'm hoping to make my time here in Switzerland a little more productive over the coming months. Before I head off to Bath in September, I'd like to find find a summer job; hopefully these forums will help me there! Also having a wisdom tooth pulled on Monday. My first taste of Swiss dentistry has been an interesting one ...

Hopefully, now that I've registered, I'll lurk a bit less and contribute a bit more

Dan

P.S. the name 'BerksDan' is an alias I've used for some time, originally used as my XBL GamerTag. Berks is short for Berkshire, where I grew up, and Dan is ... well ... I'm sure you can figure the last bit out.

Thanks. The extraction went seamlessly and painlessly :P Stitches come out in a week, along with a rather large wad of cash ...

My German isn't great. I got to know a few people from Zurich ETH (introduced by a friend of a friend) and we had planned on practicing German, but we ended up spending all our time speaking English. One of the guys in the group grew up in Obwalden(?) and whenever he speaks German, the rest crack up at his accent

As for XBox games ... I recently got into Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. That seems to be occupying an unhealthy amount of my time at the moment!
