New on the forum!

Hello everyone!

I am new on this forum...I am Rafael Rojas, a spanish citizen who came 10 years ago to the Lausanne area for a year or two...and who did not find the way back!
With a background in civil engineering, I just changed my whole life to devote to nature and landscape photography as a professional. I am specialized on large format fine art prints and the organization of photographic workshops in some of the most photogenic spots of Switzerland and other natural destinations all over the world.

I am really happy to have found this forum, which an irish friend recommended me...One of the reasons which keep us in this country is the great international ambiance, so this forum really opens a lot of possibilities to find interesting people around!

Hello again, and I will be really happy to contribute on the forum!

Sorry about that. How long should we leave commercial names up before banning them, in your opinion?

(He'll be unbanned - just needs to contact us for a name change, that's all.)

No it's perfectly okay.

Perhaps give the user chance to suggest a new name first after you contact them, if no response then ban them?

Dunno just thinking outside the box here.

Good idea, and it's what we used to do (well, perhaps not back in the Lob-and-gooner days, but a year or two ago.) We found that commercial usernames were regularly slipping through the cracks simply by declining to respond. I'd have the account flagged as "waiting for a response" but then if they didn't post again, I might or might not remember to check their profile a week later and follow up.

I admit it's not a perfect solution, but at least this way the burden of contact is on the person with a commercial interest.

Hey Hola Buongiorno Buenas Dias :-)

Nice to have a large format photog here.... When I was young I would have loved to purchase a folding 4x5 and head to the hills in the vein of Ansel Adams, Paul Caponigro et al.
Did enjoy my B&W seminars in Toscana (my teacher was a venetian alternative photographer, Roberto Salbitani)... but nowadays I've regressed to digital, ehm...

If you ever come to Ticino, give me a shout!

Paul

Re: New on the forum!

Hello!
Thanks all for your kind words!
Well, I needed to change my name, so I am coming back under the pseudo of "timecatcher" !
Thanks all for your kind words about my photography...I really appreciate it!

For those asking about where to see my work, unfortunately the link to my website was erased (I did not know it was allowed to give links in the post bodies)...but you can always check the website address on my profile!

I hope you all enjoy the great spring...lots of photographic opportunities out there! ;-)

Nice light to you all and see you around ;-)

Rafael
