| I am considering living part time in Lugano (Italian food and beautiful). Will not work, just enjoy life. Any restrictions for me to buy a condo in Lugano. Would live there 3-4months per year. Any income tax or other tax implications? Any suggestions for Real Estate agents websites dealing in Lugano properties?
Any suggestion/advice welcome | |

Suggestion: As you are a CH citizen, there's nothing stopping you buying the property - but really you should speak to a lawyer about all this for real answers you can rely on, and actually make a rational decision with.
Opinion: Firstly, I've heard, from CH sources, that the Italian parts are fed up with the Northern CH (i.e. Germanic) buying up all the nice places in Lugano/Ticino etc. Last I heard is that there is serious local resentment as they end up with ghost towns and are priced out of the market. Secondly, with this in mind, foreigners have to prove that they are going to live there - i.e. you can't buy a holiday home. How that applies to CH nationals I don't know.
