| | Hello Geneva, goodbye Texas!
Hi to all-
My family of 5 will be relocating from the US (Dallas, TX area) to the Geneva area in July, 2011 for a 3-5 year assignment. I am a former accountant, now at-home mom, soon to be "trailing spouse." I hope to add "new and improved cook" to that list once we arrive. Thanks to all EF members for taking time to share your experiences and insights with those of us who are "green" - your posts are definitely much more fun to read compared to doing Rosetta Stone!

Glad to find a fellow Texan! | | | | | Born and raised in central Oklahoma, but finished up my Uni at Texas A&M (as a proud non-bootless 'non-regular', University of Texas lovin') and moved to canton Vaud in 1985.

Gig 'em Aggies '81 | | | | | How refreshing to see an Aggie who does not insist on using the term "TU!" I am a TCU alum myself, and it seems that all my friends who went to A&M drank the entire cup of Aggie Kool Aid! Not that there's anything wrong with that.....
Please note that I have been successful in getting past my feelings of bitterness due to the unfortunate breakup of the SWC. The Rose Bowl helped quite a bit! |

Good lord! It's an invasion!
What is this strange connection with CH & Texas? My perfectly lovely (and otherwise normal) Swiss BIL lived in Dallas for over 10 years. Thankfully he's now in Geneva!
Welcome to the forum and soon to Geneva!

Welcome, fellow Horned Frog.
My stint in Swissieland was short, only 3 years and some change, and I have recently moved on to Germany.
My 8+ years in Texas (Keller, North Tarrant County) were much more fun. |

Welcome to Switzerland! I was also born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas!!
My husband and I moved to Switzerland this past Summer and we absolutely love it here. Please feel free to "private message" me if you ever have any questions. (I.E. where to get good salsa, tortillas etc.!) (My family has gotten tired of sending me care packages of El Fenix chips and salsa so I've had to find it on my own! )
Welcome, best of luck to you and your family! I hope you have a wonderful experience in Switzerland. We are very happy with our new start here. It's a beautiful country with a fantastic quality of life.
The englishforum has been extremely helpful in our move, so you have come to the right place. Almost any question you have about Switzerland can be answered right here!!
