Guten Morgen. I hope this intro finds you enjoying a pleasant Wednesday morning.

I'm fresh off the "boat" last Friday, realizing that I finally picked the right place to settle for a while. What I've experienced so far has been what I've longed for for the whole past 3 years. It's an absolute delight to be here.

I've worked in 4 different countries so far (including what I just started) and consider myself very blessed to be given the opportunities. Since this is an English forum, I take it that vast majority of you are "travellers" at heart like me. It is a great pleasure to have found this forum with so much useful information. I look forward to meeting new friends and starting a new page of my life here.

Aw, that's a nice post! Welcome to the forum - and to Switzerland

I wouldn't consider myself a traveller at heart - then again, I'm not living in my hometown which rather suggests that I must have done some traveling at some point. Maybe I'll do some more traveling eventually. Happy to stay put in lovely Switzerland for now though.

Thanks very much all. It's good to be here. Hopefully I'll find permanent housing soon. The temp housing even though very central is zu klein after all. But apartments are snatched up so quickly these days that I hardly get any chance to even fill out the form before the landlords close the listing. My company HR department is entirely relocated abroard so that really doesn't help with my situation in terms of paperwork. Just done with a short jog by the river. My weekend officially begins now.

Just a quick note on your comments. I don't think I'm much of a traveller at heart even though I travelled to every city I thought I might move to in the States during my 11 years in New York. But it turned out I liked New York the most after all. The actual moves I made were mostly due to obligation by the companies I worked for.

At different stage of my life, I preferred different things. The timing is absolutely ideal that I moved here at my current age. For you, it seems you found everything in Switzerland in every stage so far in your life. And there is no obligation to move. As long as you are happy, travel or not really doesn't matter any more...
