Hi!!
So it's finally official. I've signed the job contract, reserved the flight and will be living in Geneva in two weeks all by myself! . This has been a long and drawn out process but after about five months of going back and forth, my work permit is finally ready and everything seems to be going according to plan. I have been part of this forum for a while now but I did not want to introduce myself until I knew for sure that it was going to happen. I am a 27 year old Houstonian/Colombian. Well my entire family is from the beautiful country of Colombia and I was raised here in Houston all my life. I am very friendly and outgoing and I love meeting new people. I enjoy many different activities including outdoor sports, photography, traveling, Art, music and of course DANCE. I've danced with a Colombian Folkloric company here in Houston for the past 12 years off and on. Once I arrive in Geneva I will be searching for a dance company to join. I love all sorts of dance including Salsa, African, hip hop and many more!
I will be so happy to finally get settled into life in Geneva. I look forward in meeting different people at EF events. I will be staying in a hotel for the first 2 weeks while I find my apartment or room. I have realized that you all are right and it is turning out to me a nightmare doing so. Does anyone know of a good agency in Geneva that could help me locate a room or apartment? I'll continue searching online until I arrive but I have already encountered a number of offers that most likely are SCAMS! Yikes!

Hello Sandra, welcome to Switzerland and the EF!

I'm sorry, I wish I knew more about Geneva, alas, living in Basel is quite different, in more ways than just the local language.

There are quite a few forum members who live in that general area though (Lausanne, Vaud, Vevey, La Cote, so forth), hopefully one of them can give you some pointers.
