Yet another Aussie...

Hi all, thought I'd say given that I'm FINALLY getting back to Switzerland after a few years of living in London...can't wait.

I have lived there (Geneva, Basel, Zurich) before so I have a rough idea of what's involved however I see that things have changed considerably in terms of accom availability & prices, visas (I don't need one....YEAH!) etc etc.

That being the case, I will prob pop up every now and then with questions for you, hope I can return the favour with any of your questions sometime.

Rgds...
John B

Re: Yet another Aussie...

There's an ok Aussie restaurant in Bern called 'Boomerangs'. It sort of is Aussie style but with the Swiss prices! Standard beer including Fosters, XXXX, VB, alas no Crown Lager.

I´ve often wondered what is meant by an "aussie restaurant". The ones that I´ve been to NEVER have vegimite sangers on the menu! What´s that all about?

Re: Yet another Aussie...

Hi Muze, I'm not sure if I've already replied to your question (still trying to work out this Forum / Thread thing!..any tips?) but just in case... I grew up in western Queensland and spent my teens on the Gold Coast...nowadays I split my time between the Gold Coast and Brisbane...

Re: Yet another Aussie...

...was a bit before my time but I'll bet you've heard of Mary K(athleen)? That's where I grew up...not much left there but the bitumen streets, a bit spooky to drive around!

What were you doing in 'the curry'?

John

Re: Yet another Aussie...

Welcome back John B.
Since you've been here already, you wont be shocked too much when you see the way the traffic has filled the streets. I hate public transport, but thinking it may become more interesting to stay off the roads.
good luck with your move.
