New in Zurich

Hi, all

I signed up for this amazing forum before coming to CH and am now here.

It's been invaluable for locating all kinds of information for the (temporary) immigrant from the UK (or anywhere really). I'm currently getting all my papers sorted out, have a bank account and travelcard. I think I'm doing well.

Now, about to fight for my right to free healthcare using my EHIC from the NHS. Let's see how that goes (as most posts that I've read on here have seemed dubious over its acceptance by the Swiss authorities).

I'm a bit of a computer geek and long-time DJ . If you have music or PC questions, or just want a chinwag, I'd be up for a quiet drink - I'm not much of a party animal, I'm afraid. I do have some friends here in Zurich from a previous stint in Germany but always eager to meet new people.

I've signed up with VOIPStunt (thanks to a post on here) and it's excellent! Only 12 for 120 days of free calls to the USA and UK over the internet, and they are very good quality but I guess this depends on your ISP speed and latency.

Looking forward to learning more stuff through reading and conversing on here. Cheers, EF!

Re: New in Zurich

Hi there and welcome

EHIC depends on how long you are staying and for what purpose, fine for normal visits and in fact when I was first visiting I actually needed an Op and EHIC covered it with a please pay us 90 chuffs donation.... But longer than or more than just a visitor you of course need cover in fact you can't apply for a permit without proof of private cover even if it's from say insure and go UK..

How long you been DJing for and what sort of material? I'm too in music me

Cheers
