Girl soon to call Geneva home

Hello all,

I am a 20 years old girl, who will be shortly moving to Geneva to study. Originally from Hong Kong, I am now selling my soul at law school in Sydney with the hopes of becoming an international lawyer one day, so I can do all sorts of fluffy stuff to redeem myself, like fight for justice, equality, save refugees…that kind of thing. (Yes, I am young and naďve and know not the true wicked ways of the world.)

This forum has been so useful to browse over the past month and I simply can’t wait to live in Switzerland! I certainly hope the stereotype of Swiss people speaking French really slowly is true. I don’t even know what brown sugar looks like, so that wouldn’t be a problem at all. I’ve also been winning staring contests since the age of 5, so public transport etiquette should be a piece of cake.

In any case, should any Swiss fortunes/misfortunes befall me, I definitely know where to turn to!

Best wishes and Bonne Pâque, everyone.

Welcome to the Forum
You've certainly started off on the right foot having a look through some Threads here before you arrive. It is really worth the effort as there are so many things -er different, to catch out unwary newcomers.

Have fun with the planning and travel.

Hallo,

From the name I thought you would be a fellow south american ...

But well, can't have it all I guess ...

Welcome to Geneva, send me a pm if you want to go for dim sum one day (or if you want the address).

Lots of info in the forums, that's how I ended up posting here ...

Good luck!

I also though you'd be from SA, Argentina specifically as they are quite obsessed with their dulce de leche!

Welcome to EF & good luck with your move to CH!!

The best kind!

Hello New Girl and thanks for lovely intro!

Wishing you smooth sailings our direction and watch for the social events in our GE/VD region to mingle when you get here.

(brown sugar is overrated, anyways)

Thank you all for such a warm welcome! (despite not being South American...believe me I constantly lose sleep over this stroke of bad luck )

I'm already having so much fun planning, so I will definitely try to come to the social events when I'm here! It would be lovely to meet you all.
