Returning to Switzerland...

Hi All,

Just joined. I lived in CH between 1998 and 2006, then transferred with work to Dublin, Ireland where I have been since then.

I now have a wife, 2 daughters, and a 3rd child on the way - my oldest is currently 4 and we want to return to Switzerland before she starts school.

My main interests are understanding about the school system currently, as well as refreshing myself on the ins and outs of living in CH.

Thanks, Richard

I'm hoping to move back as well. Hopefully by the end of the year.

Re: Returning to Switzerland...

Welcome back and well done for perfect timing for the kids. Remember though that Switzerland is a Federation of States, which all have their individual school system still. So you need to tell us where you intent to live for accurate info.

The main difference generally is the Bac/Matu instead of A'Levels- the Swiss system being more like the Scottish one (continue to study all subjects rather than choose 4 for Year 12, then 3 for Year 13).

Thanks - but no, it was my first work computer login many moons ago

I'll most likely get a job in ZH-stadt - previously I lived in BS, BL, AG and ZH - so similar sort of areas, but ZH outskirts being preferred (dependant on house prices now!).

Cheers, Richard
