Ahoj !

Hey everybody !
I'm Jan and I just moved from Prague to Geneva (wich I already love).

Had a lot of English mates back in my home-country, pro' photogs just like me ! And I'm really glad there's a strong anglophone community here in Geneva, won't be too long 'till I make new friends.

Re: Ahoj !

Welcome to the Forum.

Quite a few photographers on here. Plenty of scenes and interesting events to take pictures of too.

Please try not to abbreviate too many terms in your posts, as the search engine on here needs all the help it can get to find posts on similar subjects!

Re: Ahoj !

If you do a Simple search on here for 'photography' up come 100 (one hundred) Threads. Obviously most of them are not going to help you much but one or two might give you a tip-off in the right direction.

By the way, I don't know what sticking out your tongue means these days, but in my youth, trying that out would have meant being sent out of the room in disgrace. However since the 'Děkuji' is OK, I presume we speak a different Smiley language from each other too.

Re: Ahoj !

Hello and welcome to Switzerland.
I also do a lot of photography: nature and travel photos.
Do you want to share a link to your photos?

čaues Honzo! (= hello Jan)

you will have to translate your local lingo to English, so peeps don't feel left out

and welcome here. It's fun to see fellow Czechs around, especially, talking in English to them. Just got back from lovely Praha a few hours ago.

A lot to photograph in this country, for sure. Have fun here.

It's perfect! I love when you speak Czech...
(It actually should be Jak se máš? since the dude is probably young/ish, the gender is not important...although we usually ask Comment vas tu, if we somewhat know the person, since we actually mean the question, there isn't much of formulaic smalltalk in Czech, more of argot/slang one).
