Hello to all!
I am new to the Forum and new to Basel.
I started a job in Allschwil in March, but since my wife is still in Helsinki until mid June, I'm spending some of the time in Basel and some back in Finland. I am living in Basel stadt, or more like camping, until we get everything moved over with my wife.
We are a 30 something Finnish couple with no kids and have both lived abroad before, me in Spain and the US and my wife in Spain and in Sweden. We speak fluent english, finnish and a little spanish, so german will be next on the list to learn.
It would be nice to meet some people as we don't know anyone here, so don't hesitate to drop us an email if you are interested to meet up for a cup of coffee or a beer or whatever.
Also if there are other finns in Basel, it would be nice to get to know you!

Mika, my husband, Tractorboy, was watching Finland won the championship win all by himself yesterday! Hope you managed to catch it. He's just like you, sitting 'all by himself' in Allschwil until I join him end of June with our 3 kids.
Oh, he's not Finnish, he's like Miss Friis, a Dane! But loves his ice hockey, just the same! |

Hi all!
Thanks a lot for your welcome messages, makes me feel a lot more at home!
Helm: I'm in Basel because of work. I, or we in the near future, will for sure be in Zurich at times too, I will drop you a line then. It would be nice to talk about Korvapuusti, maybe over some local pastries for comparison
