Nearly there

Hello!

I am sitting in my kitchen in West Sussex surrounded by boxes, the dog is looking at me as if to say - what on earth.....?

Next Saturday I will be in my kitchen in Switzerland probably surrounded by boxes with the dog still looking at me!

We are moving with my husbands work close to Maur, we bring our two daughters aged 10 and 12 we are all nervous and excited (including the dog!)

My interests are my family, cooking (usually burning but I will get better) and triathlon which I took up 3 years ago (I do them at my steady pace!)

We are looking forward to making the most of the Alps (although I am not going to cycle in them!) and everything Swiss.

Re: Nearly there

Welcome JessMc!

I remember clearly the "surrounded by boxes" feeling, but that was 2 years ago now. You'll love it here I'm sure!

If you don't know about it, check out www.datasport.ch for sporting events. I have never done a triathlon, but have run a few of the running events in the Zurich area and have now signed myself up for the Griefensee half marathon this year...what was I thinking?!

Hope the move goes well, and hopefully the weather will still be as glorious as it is at the moment.

Re: Nearly there

Welcome to Switzerland and EF, hope you enjoy your move. West Sussex, my favourite county. I have so many good memories from the mid 70's at College in Hove and living in West Worthing.

Re: Nearly there

Good luck with your move - it will all go so quickly now, whether you feel ready or not! I always feel sorry for the pets, if only we could explain to them what is happening....! one of my dogs takes one look at a moving box and runs to her bed in despair (fortunately the other one is too clueless to know any different!) Hope you all soon feel at home in the new place, including the dog!

Re: Nearly there

Good luck with your move! We are actually moving within Switzerland to a house so if you are looking to get rid of your boxes when you get here, we could use some.

Thanks
Kurt
