9 months should be almost enough time to find an apartment . I'm joking of course but do allow 3 or 4 months for finding accomodation in Geneva, its pretty tight at the moment and the competition out there is fierce. We are about to hit our 6th month of searching, although we have fairly specific requirements/restrictions and maybe too picky

I was brought up in Canada, hence english being my mother language... i only picked up portuguese once i moved and therefor obtained portuguese nationality.

I've now been in Geneve for slightly over a month, been to countless amounts of agencies and still waiting for a reply... I've lived in many countries and have a vast amount of experience in many work sectores, I fluently speak a few languages and yet, I've never been so long without work.... Any reason for why it seems to be so dificult to find a job in Geneve??

Hi Lusonomad. Jobs here are hard to find because we are right by France and the min salary in France is abt eur1100........Keep your chin up, something will turn up, it always does.
