Hi
Considering an opportunity to relocate from the UK to Switzerland (employer in the March District of Schwyz) with my better half, three children under the age of three (yes, we do have our hands full ) and 6 year old dog, for a three year minimum period later this year.
Have found the forum a font of information so far, and will be posting a range of questions where I have not been able to find answers wholly specific to our needs/wants, so thanks so far and in advance - look forward to conversing with you all .

Is that possible ? As common cost types have been covered lots in other threads, I can use these items and linked sites for indications of actual costs personal to our situation and needs/wants and work out whether we can affford the lifestyle we want on the back of this, without risking the ire of the forum regulars - if, however, you are voluenteering to do this for me if I provide some details then please say and I'll start the thread ASAP |

Hmm, didn't know hens had teeth. Good luck on your house hunt though, and welcome to the forum.

Swiss Astrid, house looks great, potentially a bit too far to commute to Lachen SZ from, but as I have a couple of months leeway to look (start next week in lachen, will be in hotel to start with whilst family in UK still) may have a look - it it yours?

Apartments are out with the Dog and three children under three. There is one property in Lachen, which whilst good for the work commute (walk in in under 10 mins) is right by the train line and road, and is a little too small for us if we are being honest (Saw it when we did our scouting trip). On the flip side there is a great house in Nafaels, but I don't know that there is as much to do there as in Lachen for the family, especially as we are still learning the language - need to move this house a bit closer...

We found this house online and had a relocation service do the rest. Houses don't stay for rent long here, I just checked my area and there our 0 houses in a 10 km radius...Glad we got this one (I have 4 kids and 2 cats so need space as well), it is in a small town with not a lot to do but the kids will start at the international school after the summer so I am sure I will meet enough people.
Good Luck with your search and move!
