| | Help, lots of info needed!!!!!
Hello everybody I need some good no nonsense advice!
I have just had a job interview in Zurich and will get a yes or no in 4 weeks time, during that time I need to work out whether I want to move over there so need some advice and words of wisdom on the pros and cons of a single 30-something single lady taking the plunge.... I would love to hear about leisure pursuits (I'm very sporty), weather throughout the year, the cost of living, good places to live and rent (I'm moving from London so need to be city centre to avoid massive culture shock), social scene and meeting other Brits and anything else you think I may need to know....
Thank you in advance anybody who hears my plea and would like to reply back... x

I arrived one week a go and all i can say to you if you are in London, do not miss it.
The city parks, the river water at 20 degrees, the sun (and i am from Portugal), the quality of public transports, the traffic (well the lack of it) and the purchase power.
In cons, it depends where you can live and how.
For me, i am in 30s (i am guy) and have my share living flatshare my priority even expensive was to live myself and nearby gym, river, night.
So in a serviced apartment it is 2000+/month but it is GREAT.

Weather is roasting, compared to UK, from April through October. Winter is winter, usually 3 to 5 weeks absolutely freezing, otherwise just cold.
Cost of living, expensive, but your salary will compensate no doubt.

Advice #1: Avoid the Brits
The best people were born in 1976, btw. And no, I'm not one of them |

Why don't you pop over for a couple of days to get a feel for whether the city suits you?
Kash.

I had a job interview about 3 weeks ago and recently accepted the offer. I had a whole list of questions and found almost all of them on here. I also bought "Living and Working in Switzerland" by David Hampshire (~£10 on Amazon). So far it's been very useful as an offline source of info. I also have a couple of acquaintances who live in Zurich, one I haven't seen in almost 25 years and the other in 15 years. But both have been really helpful answering questions from their own perspective (one has lived there for years, the other has been there about 2 years).
