Re: Advice on Moving to Neuchatel in Early Sept.

Funny you should say that as I took lots of photos of a totally fog covered lake, thinking it was very beautiful and mysterious. Didn't realise it was the norm. Well a bit of fog or cloud isn't the end of the world if you aren't yet used to being spoiled by the sun!

Re: Advice on Moving to Neuchatel in Early Sept.

Yes, the fog is a bit feature... not just of Neuchâtel mind you. In winter, the whole of the "Swiss Plateau" between Lausanne and Zürich can get trapped under a layer of stratus cloud for days on end, when it's sunny everywhere else. Some years it happens a lot, others hardly at all.

In Neuchâtel, the fog/sun limit is often just at the top of the town (I used to work at Puits-Godet, and we would be constantly in and out of the fog from one minute to the next). What this means is that it doesn't take long to escape from the fog, BUT if you're working in the town centre and don't have the opportunity to get up higher during daylight hours it can get you down.
