Hello people,

My girlfriend and I have just moved to Switzerland this weekend and are living in Schaffhausen.

I work in town and my other half is looking for employment herself.

Neither of us speak German (yet) and whilst we want to integrate as best as possible, we do already feel like we're really in at the deep end here!

I am 35 and she is 29 and we're both sociable types so would love to know if there's anything going on in the English or US community.

We would both love to get involved with locals and also meet other people like us who have already been through the whole move!

There's a group called Crackerjack that meet at the CrossBox every Friday night. I met some of them last year when I was on a biz trip purely by chance. I'm moving to Schaffhausen in July/August so maybe see you there.

I've been to crackerjack once. was a nice bunch. I never went back again due to the smokey pub they used to meet in, but hopefully will go a few more times now.
