Hello All,
First of all I would like to thank to the creators and active participants of this forum for the tons of useful information. I must admit that the Russian forums are not even close to being such informative, so I am glad that I have found this one.
While we are waiting for visas and are preparing to the relocation, I think it's time to introduce myself and start actively reading this forum in the free time (well... I wish I had it

)
Me and my husband are ~ 30 years old, we both work in IT and we have a 20-months old daughter. Recently my husband received a job offer from the well known IT company

, which we decided to accept, and now we are preparing for the relocation to Zürich. Unfortunately, I will not have a work permit (most probably, we will have an "L" type visa during the first year or two), but I do not loose hope to find some job after a while at some company, which will be so kind to make a permit for me. Please, don't tell me yet that it is unrealistic, as I do not want to be depressed still before the relocation. The fear of being a housewife for a long term is the only thing now, which spoils my happiness from the coming relocation.
We will live in a temporary apartment somewhere in Zürich for the first 1-2 months, and then we will be moving to some other area. So far our target areas are Thalwil, Adliswil or Horgen, but let's see if it works out.
My native language is Russian, but I also speak fluent Ukrainian, and have an advanced level of English (well, at least I hope so

) and a basic level of French. As for German, I have attended German courses for 3 years some time ago and reached the level C1 or something, unfortunately, I forgot a lot of words and rules since then, but I am trying to restore my skills by reading, listening and doing some exercises in German.
I will be glad to make acquaintance with some mothers of the small children in the area where we will live (unfortunately, hard to say yet what area it would be) to take walks on the weekdays and practice the languages (any mentioned above). My baby speaks only Russian so far, but I would be happy if I could find some English and/or German speaking company for her to let her start learning these languages immediately after the relocation.
Also (probably, I will create a separate topic about it when I know our location more precisely, but I will briefly mention it here not to forget later on) my daughter has some orthopedic problems and I guess she will need regular observation by some highly experienced children's orthopedist. I would be thankful if someone could advice me some good doctor around Zürich.
Sorry for the very long post.
I hope I and my family will be able to find some new friends here.
Looking forward to arrive to Zürich.
