Hi there
I have worked in Basel for 2 years now, travelling home every 2nd weekend and and my family coming to stay with me every school holiday.
Therefore, as nfortunately my daughter and husband still live in the UK, my daughter does not attend school in Basel and therefore is struggling to meet friends.
She is due to arrive in July again for 6 weeks school holidays and this is the first time I have heard her slightly reluctant to come over to Basel.
She is 13 years old and obviously at the age that she needs other childrens company, as her parents company is nt enough anymore.
At Easter we paid for a friend to come over with her for 17 days and she had the best time ever. However this isn't an option for 6 weeks of course.
Therefore I am keen to find out how I can integrate my daughter into finding friendship with other UK children here in Basel. She spends many hours at bachgraben over the holidays searching for English speaking children to no avail and therefore I'd like to give her a helping hand by making enquiries before she arrives.
Many thanks for any advice that may be given. I myself would be happy to come along and meet families before summer.
I work with a great group of UK people and we have a good social circle, however none have children.
