Moving to Zurich in 2 weeks

My wife and I are early 30s, no kids, and moving to Zurich at the end of June. I will be working while my wife tries to keep busy now that she has had to quit her job. We will be looking for some expats that hopefully know more about living in Zurich than we do!! I am taking a week off a month to travel Europe so we would love any destination suggestions.

Re: Moving to Zurich in 2 weeks

I moved here in December with the husband for his job. We've got no kids and I'm bored without working. Have your wife PM me and we can be bored together Seriously - I'd love to meet another expat "trailing spouse". Best of luck with your move.

I'm another trailing wife moving at the end of June. Seems to be a popular time! I have a daughter that will be attending Kindgarden in the fall and will need a friend to be bored with too! I'll send you a message once we get settled and we all can be bored together...

Re: Moving to Zurich in 2 weeks

Welcome to Zurich,

If you two are looking to meet other expats, i advise you to join the "Thirsty Thursday" group. You can join them on Facebook under the name "Thirsty Thursday Zurich". When i arrived back in December, I didnt know anyone and i have since met most of my friends from this weekly gathering!!!

If you do attend and get to talk to Tamara (the organiser), ask her about Jayne. She is a fantastic trainer who has a bootcamp class three times a week. Great way to start the day believe me and since i ve been doing it the weight keeps dropping (a stone in 5 months)....

Re scenery, please drive down to Ascona, you will both love it!!!! Also Luzern is fantastic, so cute.... Re Europe take a drive in Southern France but avoid travelling end of July, really busy on motorways! My fiance and I bought this book called "Back Roads France" (ISBN 978-1-4053-4745-7) which takes you to different places, it s a great time to visit the French countryside!!

Take care and good luck
