Moving from San Diego to Lausanne

Hi all!

I've accepted a PhD position at EPFL, and will be moving to Lausanne in mid-to-late August. I've been lurking here for a few months, so I'm not completely new to the forum, but I'm happy to register and finally say hello .

I've been fairly good about following up advertisements, even sending in application packets to a few immobilière, but no luck so far. I'm really looking for a long-term lease for a furnished studio or 1.5 - 2 piece apartment, but at this point I'm seriously considering a temporary "colocation" arrangement. If anybody knows anyone with intentions to leave such an apartment, or knows of any good (i.e. own private bath, reasonable roommates) opportunities for colocation, a PM would definitely be appreciated.

Thanks, and hello once again .

Welcome to the forum. Beware of scams ( search "scams" on the forum for an insight ) in your house hunting.

Hi
Welcome to Lausanne. You may want to make application with www.ums.ch. Apartments are on first-cum-first-serve basis. You pay additional commission fees to UMS, but most of the apartments are furnished. I was very happy with the way they treated me

Good luck

Re: Moving from San Diego to Lausanne

Check with Nogan SA and OK logements for temporary furnished apartments. OK logement is min. 1 month rent and Nogan min. 4 month rent.
OK logement does not ask for resident permit (in case you don't have it yet) since they rent out month by month.
Also check the Lausanne city website for tourist accommodation
