| | Help needed please
Hi Everyone,
My name is Kel and I am from Australia. I have a problem ...
I am at my wits end and a friend pointed me here hoping somebody may be able to help.
A few years ago a friend travelled to Switzerland and purchased a plush toy (jamadu) for my daughter. My daughter has taken this everywhere with her and a few days ago she lost it.
I have searched high and low all over the internet, I have emailed coop and looked into everyway possible to get her another one.
Does anyone know anyone who still sells them or where I could purchase one?
I am begging for help. I have a very upset little girl on my hands.

Hi Kel. Welcome to EF.
Was this a cuddly version of the Jamadu monkey? I've not seen them in-store and they're not listed on their online shop.
Maybe it was a limited edition thing to promote their Jamadu range of products.
Sorry I can't be more helpful. Good luck with your search though.

I've searched Ricardo, Ebay and Amazon with no luck.
The Coop website doesn't have anything either. I'm so sorry that your daughter lost her favourite toy, that must be a nightmare
If I come across one I'll let you know. I've put a couple of ads up to see if I can come across one at one of the mother and baby groups I'm a member of.
Fingers crossed.

thanks | | | | | Probably this (but in soft toy form) - the promotional monkey of Coop's Jamadu kiddy range of products:
To the OP - to echo the other comments - I've never seen a soft toy version.

The nearest thing I could find was this: a soft ape, purchased at the Coop, available on Ricardo (it is no longer for sale, but if this is what the OP is after there might be more).
As other posters have suggested, a photograph or detailed description would be very helpful. |

Is this the fellah? Jamadu-BaDu
From this webpage from Coop weekly paper, although scroll down to this pic. and click, the date is Sept.09, which suggests it may have been available for the start of the promotion only.
EDIT: got bogged down in the Mud. | This user would like to thank TiMow for this useful post: | |

Some Swiss friends of mine's daughter got really attached to a little stuffed cow. The mom went out and bought 6 of them, and rotated them so they all had similar wear and tear and the kid was none the wiser. I think in the end one got lost (or tossed... ). Stuffed animal insurance.
Ours never got attached to any one stuffed animal, while I was so attached to a Raggedy Andy doll as a little boy that all that's left (yes, my mom still has it ) is a threadbare part of one lower leg, minus stuffing.
OP- I bet if you haunt ricardo.ch something will turn up, but by then the little one may well be over it. Good luck!

There was a different version of Jamadu, with long arms and legs (edit - the one posted above now!) - and yes I remember he was a limited edition at the start of the Jamadu promotion (my kids wanted one and I didn't get one!) so I doubt you will find him in the shops now. Your best bet would be either coop themselves (surely they must have some in a warehouse somewhere?) or second hand....
I will also have a look round for you - I know how desperate it is when your child loses that favourite toy. We did in the end manage to substitute our lost one though by selling it as "donkey's long lost cousin who came to stay and he really needs a friend because donkey has gone missing" - it did take a while though.

Hrmm...I'm gonna have to dig through my closet of stuffed animals, I think when we were at my husbands jobs' Family Day there were the Coop folks there where the kids were spinning to get prizes. I remember this very clearly because we spun a wheel and my little girl (who was 1 at the time) got some hard candy or something and so we asked if we could trade for the monkey...
Not important to the story, the girl got cross with us, like that was against the rules (which yes, yes, it was) but we had one...I'm crossing my fingers for you that my little girl hasn't tossed it out of her stroller one day while walking and I'll be glad to ship it to you.
I'll message you in a couple of days after the rummage.

Have you tried contacting COOP and asking them directly? They would probably be the best people to actually let you know if these are still in production somewhere.

Wow thanks so much everyone. Yes those pictures are correct. I have emailed coop and they are unable to help due to "not having a business mail order system" their words.
I have spent literally 20 or 30 hours looking for this, I have emailed to try and have one made and I have tried gettting her to look through pics on ebay of similiar ones ...to no avail!!!
Sigh, I cant believe I cant find one
Thanks so much for the help and suggestions
Kel

Yes, it has been horrendous, she asks at least once an hour for it. She was very attatched. I have tried telling her we could get jamadus brother/sister mother etc ...doesnt work.
Its my fault for letting her get attached, but I have definately learnt my lesson
Thanks again everyone

have you tried telling her that Jamadus has gone on holiday.. that might buy you a week or so.. then try find one similiar.. saying that after gone to LA, it has a face lift? That might work.
