Non-EU Citizens Working in CH/ Living in France

I'm a Canadian living in Basel but working at the airport (technically in France). I'm in the process of getting a French resident permit so I can make the move - Looking for any other non-EU citizens who may have been through this and could offer tips... Thanks!
