Hi,

My name's David and my wife and myself will be moving to Switzerland in July after 20 odd years in London.
I am starting a new job and will be in Geneva for 3 days and in Bern for 2 days every week. We are both hoping it will be a permanent move and are looking at settling in the Lausanne area as this looks like it would be convenient for both. We are both excited and panic stricken at the same time. 3 words: Accommodation, accommodation, accommodation!
I came across this site a couple of days ago and it looks like a fun and informative place.
Looking forwards to a grand Swiss adventure and hopefully making a few friends.

With all those years in London, I expect you will be a minefield of information for anyone seeking all sorts of London related information.

If you've not come across it yet, there's loads of great information and housing related links under the "Sticky" in the "Housing in general" section of the forum.

I also ran the following search "housing in lausanne" that may provide some helpful pointers with regards to looking for housing there.

Check out the Social Events section for activitities and social gatherings organized by EFers. There's bound to be something that will suit. Going to EF events is a great way to meet new people and make friends, especially outside of one's work environment.
