Horgen Ahoy!

OK, here goes:

Just moved to Horgen from Luxembourg with wife (who works nearby) and son (who I'll take care of full time for the next year or so). We're settling in slowly after surviving the move, and while waiting for Swisscom to get us connected, I'm fully committed to explore the offline world around me. Any tips for full-time dads?

Most everybody in our building - and everyone under the age of 60 in Horgen I've met so far, except those working at Gemeindehaus - seems to be Kiwi, English or German, so we (German and Aussie) should fit in fine.

Off to Migros to get a Cumulus card now, just to be able to hand one over at the till. The looks you get when you admit you don't have one...

Re: Horgen Ahoy!

Nice intro, welcome!

I do know of a group of international stay at home dads in your area, if I find the details I'll post them.

Aren't they all?

Anyway, thanks for the nice welcome, and having a group of international stay-at-home dads sounds rather good!

Welcome to the Zurich area

Horgen is a nice spot, and there's many places to "explore" as a full-time dad. E.g. try http://www.parkimgruene.ch, which is quite nearby and great in the summer.

Re: Horgen Ahoy!

Hi! I am organizing an event this Sunday (Oct. 23) in order to bring together some people from around here and watch the Rugby final on big screen at 10am. There will be English Breakfast, bacon sarnie, tea and beer from 9am. The place is called Sale Bar and the address is Stockerstrasse 4 (only 100m from the train station in Horgen).

Hope to see you there!

Diego

Let's see how I go - my parents are here on the weekend and Rugby is probably the last thing they're interested in.

Otherwise, that sounds nice. Would I be allowed to support France against the All Blacks though?
