Are you moving out of or into VsG? We've got to go home first back in a few weeks for good!! Yippeeee!!!
No, I'm out in a little commune called Misery-Courtion, about 7 kilometres from Villars-sur-Glane which is made up of 4 villages. We've been out here ever since we moved over nearly 13 years ago (end of September to be exact) because my husband got a job over here. It's between Fribourg and Avenches and only has a total population of just over 1,500. We're in the Misery part of the commune. My husband loves to tell people when he meets them that he goes home to Misery every night.

Re: Moving to Fribourg!!!!

Hello, Just thought I would say Hi and welcome to Fribourg. If you are up for joining a gym try this one http://www.fitplus-fribourg.ch/ it is in Villars-Sur-Glane and you will meet lots of English/Irish/Aussies there. Also the http://www.fewgroup.org/ is a great place to start. I also have a 13 year old daughter and a 11 year old boy. Both in the Swiss system as they were born here. Hopefully meet up one time. Good luck with the move.

We get the keys on the 15th September! Moving to an apartment near the shopping centre it's got an amazing view.
Hopefully see you for a coffee!!!!
Hi,
Know you're busy with the move, but just wanted to say welcome for when you arrive on the 15th.

We're busy shifting stuff to our new place for the end of the month and my computer also went down so I wasn't sure I'd be able to say welcome to you and your family once you'd arrived. Having to share my husband's computer at the moment, but not a lot of time for messaging.

Hope you have a good trip over and no problems in settling in to your new home.

Thank you!!
Well, we are here and settled and so far so good. I've got my orange bags from migros, our tv, phone and Internet are all powered up and I've got a mobile phone with a swanky international number!
Everyone so far has been really friendly and patient, especially the lady at the checkout in migros when I didn't know about weighing the fruit and veg first. She took me back round and showed me how to do it until it was all done and didn't seem to mind there was a queue of people. The queue of people didn't seem to mind either!
I am finding it quite tiring going out and about with higher French from 20 years ago and trying to communicate more than ferme la Porte and Ma chamber est rose! But I'll get there.
I relented and put my daughter into IS Berne simply because of the gymnasium but my wee boy starts at the local school tomorrow or wednesday and he can't wait.
Thank you for all your support leading up to the move. I hope we can catch up for a coffee sometime soon. My shout.
